So I was looking for a car for my high-performance Pontiac for 400 thatI built. If anyone needs any technical information and even had a factory hood tach with original harness location of Parts everything I got a lot of photos of the thing it’s pretty amazing has the original engine with it so I pulled out the original engine and put it on the stand and put my engine in it it’s an excellent car with zero rust I got it out of Great Falls Montana and there’s one little speck on the door which I can’t even tell what it is the car just has orange dust underneath it. The guy that owned it was a retired Vietnam vet it took delivery of it in December 1969 I have the PHS and everything. His neighbor told me that he used to drive it around his 200 acre. The interior is absolutely excellent has an original eight track tape player. The crazy thing is we were all talking about hot starts distributor issues problems that’s why I said I broke the mold I have an A set up that most guys don’t recommend I am also a master technician so sometimes I will spend a week tuning the car . I suppose it’s my sanity relief retired USMC ,In mid 50s now collected parts since I was a child. Anybody needs old parts even AFB Carter’s intake manifold and such I have a bunch of stuff and I took a day off from school are used to go to the local junkyards and hunt for Pontiac 400 parts enough said about all that stuff. I found a problem with these eBay Chinese junk distributors they definitely don’t like to get hot like our Pontiacs like the To run had a problem with vacuum going crazy couldn’t control timing . So I took out my original dizzy tuned it in that was the ticket . What’s pretty amazing is the set up and running I compression number 16 heads ram air 4 cam competition Cam valve Springs I cleaned up the heads polish the pockets It likes timing with original Quadra jet the scene runs excellent idles pretty nice considering the cam Heavy duty push rods ,full roller rocker1.5 forge lower end. The car has original 323ZG coded rear. This car Pulls 17 inches of vacuum which is pretty cool it rips into the throttle with no hesitation (original Quadra jet ) it’s got an original flex fan from the factory I’m gonna see how cool I can keep this beast might install a secret squirrel electric fan. And I’m cheating a little bit by running 93 octane fuel. I have to tell you the truth I still love points and condenser’s I think that they were on the best on these engines within performance margins. I’m in Southwest Florida so I had to air condition the garage now my wife’s mad she said she has to compete with a car and the garage i’ve been married 30 years she’ll just have to put up with me.
