Freshly rebuilt 350. Was getting ready to attempt startup and when filled with coolant she started leaking out of this threaded fitting. No coolant evident in oil. What is this hole for from the casting?

That's just basically a drain hole to drain coolant from the block. There is one on each side and they both should have a pipe plug in them.

Thanks! Yep- scared the crap out of me. Cleaned up the threads and the plug went right in.
