TriCity did my rear bumper. It looks better than brand new. No imperfections anywhere. They only do bumpers.
I would like to do the quarter glass weatherstrip chrome. Does anyone know a shop that does good work on smaller parts?
I contacted a company 18 months ago about doing the louver inserts, and hood and fender emblems. I don't recall who I asked back then, but their prices were rediculous.
I found a company in Texas that restores the 8 track face plates. They rechrome them and refinish the front plate. I recieved a pic from Tony ( Owner Tony's Auto Classics ) of the end product, and it looks excellent.... I'm planning on sending mine out soon to be restored. If anyone is interested you should email Tony at the following email and I'm sure he will send you a pic of what the face plate looks like restored. The cost is not bad he quoted me about $50.00 to rechrome and $47.50 to refinish inner black area. If you email him, tell him I referred you ... ABC Custom Chrome in Waterford, MI. $200 to deplate, restore and replate a heavily blistered and bubbled convertible windshield header, but OH so worth it!!!!!
They do small items up to bumpers, motorcycle frames, etc. Fast, too. And the low end is what most call "show" chrome...the high end stuff is indescribably beautiful.
And they give a lifetime warranty.

I have been dealing with Victoria Plating for over a dozen years now. Steve Lowe (the owner) is amazing and will work with the customer to make them happy. Check out their web site at: http://www.victoriaplating.ca/
He even developed a process for duplicating the satin chrome finishes on several varieties of steering wheels I restore. The satin sheen has become a popular addition to his already vast plating services. Steve has plated dozens of steering wheels for my customers. Here are a few examples of his work.
They provide all types of plating of the highest quality and have many satisfied customers from all over the world.

Do you know a good place to rechrome bumpers in the Edmonton area?
Sorry, no one that is really consistent. I know it's in BC but I would recommend Victoria Plating. Every person I've sent there has been extremely happy with the results.
One customer had a dash piece for a 50's Cadillac done 3 times at a shop in the interior of BC. The first 2 times, pitting was still visible ... the third time, it had so much plating on it, it wouldn't fit in the opening anymore. He was frustrated and looking for another one to get chromed when I suggested Steve's shop. He talked to him that day, sent off the replated, replated, replated piece and just over a week later (for less than the cost at the first shop) he got the piece back in perfect condition and it fit as it was supposed to.
That's a typical Victoria Plating story!
The finish on pedlondarite's spoke covers is another example of the quality of their work. It's been how many years since they did your spokes? I know it will likely outlast the original finish from the factory.
Good Luck and if you decide to use Victoria Plating please tell Steve I pointed you in their direction!

I wanted to post my experiance with Knox Custom Chrome. This chrome shop is located in Knoxville, Tn. and they do excellent work. http://www.knoxcustomchrome.com/ They have been in business since 1967 and they also sell bumper cores for a good price. I bought a 1969 Firebird 400 original front bumper from them and they repaired and chromed it for $250.00 and I also sent a rear bumper to them and they repaired and chromed that for $300.00. I have also attached some before and after pics. Good service and good turn around times. The top front bumper is the bumper I got from them.
