I’m installing inner and outer wheel houses and need to get a photo if possible on where the lip goes in relation to the rocker. Keep in mind I have a convertible, does the end of the wheel house contact the rocker at the bottom? Or is there a slight gap for the rain to exit? If so how large a gap should I leave?

I had no reference to begin with as the rear of this bird was large block of bondo and fiberglass.

I’m leaning towards around 1/8 to ¼ inch gap for water exit.
Also while I’m at it, it looks from the other side that the trunk drop off is actually about ½ inch inboard of the wheel house edge? Is this correct?

What year are you working on?
I haven't had the wheelhouses out of my car but I have replaced the trunk drop-off. On mine the drop-off does not line up (edge to edge) with the wheel house. I don't recall exactly how much but it was 1/4 to 1/2 inch in (towards the outside of the car) from the wheel house edge.
If no one else sends you a pic, let me know and I will try to take a few of mine for you (69 convert.)

I'm working on a 69 converible and trying to line up the inner and outer wheel houses correctly.If you stand looking at the side of the car , and your installing the wheel houses. you can rotate them counter clock wise until the bottom edge of the lip is in contact with the inside bottom of the rocker. But if i do that then it looks like there wouldn't be any opening for the water to exit the rocker/wheel house area.
Anybody have an idea on where the water actually exits? Is it the little square hole in the inner rocker section?

Not sure if these will help or not. To save time - which equals money in my case since I'm not doing the work myself - I opted to just have the bad parts cut out and replaced instead of the complete inner and outer wheel houses.

Sometimes I get the lazies, so to make sure it didn't happen, I stopped and tried to get some shots that might help.

It's a 9 coupe and the metalwork in the pictures is unrestored, factory assembled seams. The digital camera battery crapped out, so we have to take what we can get, and in this case--whereby pictures look better than the real thing--the metal is in much better shape than the pictures show.

Hope this helps. If you need more clairity, elplain what areas you need better picures of because I still have the car on stands and the wheels off and can try to get the pictures you need.

The water from the top gutter is supposed to drain through a hole that is on the outside of the rocker. If I remember correctly you can only see it with the quarter panel off. It is on the side of the rocker by the quarter and not the end by the wheelhouse. If you don't seal the joints between the wheelhouse's you will get water seeping up if you get in the rain. Barry
