Been searching for the do-it-yourself color for repainting the "red" inner inlay color. I finally found a very close color..Dupli Color T-162 Red-orange.
Set a NOS and repainted emblem side by side.
Looked so close, I had to cry.
Cleaned out the old paint with "Aircraft remover" carefully laid in with a Q-tip. washed in warm water, then used PPG Acryli-clean DX 330 for final prep cleaning. I used an etching primer on cleaned inlay prepped with 600 grit wrapped around a Q-tip.
I shot the red/orange lightly 3 times over an hour..Turned out great!
