Thanks Phil,
She need alot, we just had the trans and front end rebuilt. Now we are going to do something about the engine. She runs but not very good. Have had new plugs, points ect ect and timed but still run hard. Choke gets stuck. We're thinking to just have the engine rebuilt to orginal and be done with it.
After that....exhaust, rear springs, paint then interior.

I gotta agree with the above posts. Looks like you have a very good candidate with a solid foundation. Mechanicals can fixed reletively easily.

Thanks all....Looks can be deceiving right? Seems that there is soooooo much to do. Seems like when we complete something there is a new problem popping up. Guess thats what make the journey so much fun and the wife a little testy!

ahhh you'll do fine Garz... how old is your son? This is going to be a fantastic journey you both will enjoy.. it will seem like forever doing it, but when you are finished, it will feel like only yesterday when you started.
The wife and I call ours the snowball, for every dollar we spend, it requires another dollar. And when you are faced with blowing $300 but the rest of the world tells you they got theirs for less than two, just smile and tell yourself how lucky you are to have these problems.
Congrats and good luck! The best is yet to come...
ps... tell the wife you are doing it all for her... and try to act that way every once in a while too.

Its almost "Christine" like but I feel that she is just telling me what she wants done. It sounds crazy but just listen to her,,,, she will tell you what to do. OK, I’m going to go take my med's now so the purple Leprechauns disappear and stop telling me to start fires

Looks good Garz. I drove mine for about 10 years everyday in probably about the same condition when I was a kid. I didn't think twice about getting on the road to LA or the frog jumps or Tahoe for the weekend. The first thing is making it reliable for him. When he starts to drive it you might think about a AAA card too. But tell him he can't use it to get all his buddies towed.

Ah... I remember as if it twas yesterday. The first tear into the strip down job. Once you get going it's hard to stop! Your lucky to have a son to coerce into sweating iot out with you. My daughters don't want to do any thing but drive it to high school when it's done...NOT!
Have a look at my and others restoration pix, there's a wealth of info there!

We bought our 68 when my son Steve was in 11th grade. That was a bit over three years ago, and as you all know he is now in the Air Force doing great things for America.
Though the car was never intended to be solely his, he knows that I'll never sell it and that it will be ALL his someday. We did alot of work on it together and he often calls home asking about Suzi-Q. He ain't stupid, and knows that he has a classic sitting at home.
