Well if I was the bidder sitting at $95,000 at the moment and didn't know everything there was to know about this car I'd be sending Vikki and Jim out pronto laugh and have you check for those rare 1969 JS 14x7 wheel codes while you're at it.

and I'd take along a correct master cylinder... smile

My money is as good as anyone else's, and my eBay feedback is 100%. That makes me as qualified as anyone else on eBay.

After hyjacking the heck out of this thread I'd like to point out that the person who the originator(Blue67) was referring to in the first post used to be a member of this site and has been banned twice now. He is notorius for such feats as producing pictures of cars and parts he really doesn't have. This thread has a lot of irony in it when you see the characters and their roles.

Thread? What thread? Did someone say "Rally II"?

I believe I did point eBay irony out a few (dozen?) posts back...

And those of us that are still here can get a laugh out of it.

The nice twist is that this car does exist, is real, and based on evidence and reference it appears to be THE car!

A copy of the title with the previous owner's name was the finishing touch. I already knew who the previous owner was.

Jim, I don’t know if I remember properly or not but were you or were you not blasting the heck out of people on this site for mis-representing cars?

Why would you now defend the very thing that you admonished a little while ago?

I really don’t care one way or the other but at least be consistent in your convictions and please do not attempt to insult/demean someone that has a very good reputation on this site and helps without motive.

Just buy the car and tell everyone how you paid XXX % over its actual value for you dream car because it’s a re-body. 90K body tag,,,, Yippie smile

Typically I just don’t get involved in these “pissin” contests but your just killing me with this hypocritical banter and character assassination attempts. Im sure you have hear this before, but grow up.

Joe,
Lets stick exactly with the facts. I have called out two members. Only two in the four years or so I've been posting. Both times I had unrefutable proof that they were misrepresenting cars and/or parts for sale. I was right both times. Recently, two 69 TA's have been called out as frauds. Both were proven legitamate. I was on the right side all four times. You want consistent, you got consistent. Not always negative, not always positive. Just positive until proven guilty.

Back to Wheels in MN, I often provide info to sellers of early Firebird stuff on E-bay and usually get a reasonable reply. Stick to your helpful nature and don't let one put you off. It helps the hobby when you help in this way. My thanks to you.

One of the problems that I have is that buyers now trust PHS to the point where they accept the seller's copy! C'mon, use your head! If you are concerned with authenticity then order your own PHS. If you have questions about a car then ask the right people. There are probably a dozen people in the top tier of Firebirds, those who know who's in the first tier, and those who know those in the second tier. Then there is everyone else. If you are seriously considering a car with a stratospheric price, then authenticate it properly. If it does not check out, that information is also helpful the next time the car pops up.

I will no longer participate in speculation over authenticity. It takes too much time and effort. I'll do the research for a buyer including travel if necessary, for an appropriate fee.

I just have to say that Ernie's post is a good example of the unscrupulous people that are out there. If you try to be up front and helpful such as Ernie was, and you get THAT kind of reply... that is a huge Red Flag, and as pointed out, justly so.

I think the whole 69 TA section of this thread can more or less be summed up in Vikki's last post... Unfortunately, we all need to protect ourselves and do all the correct research to ensure WE, know what we are buying these days.

Good points by all, and as mentioned, educational!

Thanks - Brett!

Also Vikki give Jim the boots on the 1969 trans am issue he likes to talk out both sides of his face! Your right if its a rebody its not the real thing.. laugh

Jim, Im still waiting on the proof you have on my car..YOU FORGOT TO TELL THEM YOU CRIED SO MUCH TO THE THEY SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT JUST TO SHUT YOU UP. WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOURS SUSPENDED FOR HARRASSING ME!

Ha HA Maybe next time you should double check before you stamp a Rally. That's priceless! Talk about 'thicker than theives', they are popping out of the woodwork. So you blasted Ernie because he was a member of this site? That's so cool. I guess everybody thinks that I was a little tough on you and should have been nice? Oh yeah, you said you were pulling that wonder car out in the spring for some pics to verify it? Well, spring has come and gone. Is it still snowed in? What a joke!

Post em on the parts and cars for sale. I'm sure people need them. You have pics, right? Wait, maybe it would be good to change your displayed name first. Then you would be free and clear.

The reason the name was changed is you keep trying to harrass me like your doing right now everytime I posted. And theres board administrators that know you were doing it.. So they told me to change my name to see if that would help.

No,Thats fine I have a digital camera.

You summed it up on the issue you had with me on my cars D80 cowl tag in your post above. When I would not sell you the car or its cowl tag.

QUOTE:

It's my dream car! The one with the red interior. I would rather it be garaged for it's whole life with 20K miles on it now but it's just not going to be. Weigh it; Crush or Rebody. I'll take rebody. As for the price, if I was really seriously with money I would scream to the high heavens that it was a rebody so I could get it cheaper. I still want it rebody or no! If it has the right tags it's as close as you are going to get to the red, white, and blue TA that they only made one of.

I'm not that interested - I started writing a reply to the first one but lost interest unless I sent it by mistake. Whether you got the data from this website or not, the info was still misquoted. The 14x7 section on the web page refers to different codes produced over a number of years. I think you are missing the point - the world of Rally II wheels can be confusing for any one. I don't know you personally nor have I conversed with you on this site in the past. Point is, when I am trying to assist some one like yourself I expect a bit better feedback. That's all it's about nothing more nothing less.

My point is thats why we have groups like this to talk about our cars. People dont care what you think and its not anyones "Job" or "Place" to email people off ebay and try to push your thoughts & opinions down ebay sellers throats. If you want to help someone mind your own business unless they ask for your help. By the way it was you emailing me five different times. My ad didnt say please contact me with your opinion.

Although in an ideal world sellers would clearly and accurately list what they sell, and buyers would research and know what they need, sometimes questions need to be asked or clarifications given.

Many sellers are not trying to misrepresent an item if the description is not correct, it may be an honest error, but when someone provides correct information a reputable seller should double check their ad and modify the listing if appropriate, not attack the source of the information.

Your attitude speaks for itself.

Thats great that you have your opinion.
But its just that "your opinion".
You can deal with buyers the way you want to and Im aload to deal with buyers.
The way I want too. Thats what makes the USA so great. But if you look at the first post of this topic he had no intension of buying the item he was just trying to get his opinion across. And like I said before its ones "job" or "place" to try to be the ebay police. Also this is not the first time. I have seen this group doing this to ebay sellers . As,I said in post of the past. I sell many, many, many old cars and parts a year and I can tell when theres a person that wants to buy a item or if there just a "looky lou". And on this one I did call it out And it was a "looky lou".

MY SELLING MODE IS DONT WASTE MY TIME AND I WILL NOT WASTE YOURS TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. BECAUSE THERES TEN OTHER PEOPLE THAT WANT IT.

IM SORRY IF YOU DONT LIKE IT. BUT IT HAS MADE ME ALOT OF MONEY AND SAVED ME A LOT OF TIME OVER THE YEARS.

"You can deal with buyers the way you want to... and Im aload to deal with..."

On that note, I think this thread has reached it's full potential. No one seems to be able to get their point across to where it would make a difference.

So what do you say we just leave it at that?

(no reply needed) Lol...

Brett!

I hope you all understand why I have closed this thread as I do agree we have reached the end and all parties have expressed their opinions. I would please ask to not continue this topic elsewhere on the board.

Thank you for your support - Geoff
