Per the Detroit Free Press(8/6/06), GM Chairman Rick Wagoner is expected to announce the resurrection of the Camaro in a speech Thrusday to an automotive conference in Traverse City, MI. To paraphrase the article, GM's spokesman, Steve Harris would not confirm but other sources say that the GM BOD have green-lighted the rear-drive (built on GM's Zeta architecture) Camaro and possibly three engine combinations (two V8s and a V6).
No comment on a Pontiac Firebird / Trans Am.

BFT! I was getting pretty sick of hearing how they :haven't made a decision yet" for the last friggen 6 months. Take a dump or get of the toilet already! Can you tell it's annoyed me?
As for a price, it's probably somewhere between insane and might as well buy a slightly used Vette.

"As for a price, it's probably somewhere between insane and might as well buy a slightly used Vette. " That sounds about right

I think the price will be very close to comparable Mustang models.

I would be afraid that the competition between 3 pony cars coupled with $4.00 gas would mean they all die off again in a couple of years.
Without any competion, Ford sold 123,000 Mustangs in the 2005 model year. If you split that number 3 ways, that's not enough volume for any of the Big 3 to continue.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI

24-28 grand for a rustang. At least its hopefully made in the US not Australia. Nothing against Australia but a Holden is not a GTO. Im quessing 28-32. Hey GM the ship has already left.

The ship hasnt left yet but they certainly run the danger that it will have by the time they are actually available in 2009. Made official today that production will begin late 08 and available 09. I notice a lot of people on here are a little salty when it comes to the Camaro. You really shouldnt be..the ridiculous prices they are going for are helping to drive up prices on the firebirds now.

Some of aren't necessarily salty about camaros. Its the whole bow-tie thing all together for me. Actually I don't think chevy's are bad vehicles. Especially if you aint a goin' nowhere. (smiley face with really big teeth)
