I ought to pick it up because it has to be informative. Out of everyone--and I mean EVERYONE--he is the only person who I will blindly accept as gospel. Just like In God We Trust, everyone else pays cash.
Meet Jim at a car show in Gurnee Neb. Put on a heck of a seminar on exhaust. Wealth of info. I really like the combo section in the back. Just like the shoot-out info in HPP. Must read.
Yes there's all sort's of little tip's like when routing your spark plug wires keep #5, #7 away from each other because they fire simultaneously.
Make sure you have the ring mounted on after your pulley on the harmonic balancer because if you don't it'll wobble out the bolt holes. Plus many others.
Can't speak highly enough about Jim. I got to sit down with him and his brother Floyd in Dallas during the Pontiac Nationals a couple of years ago when I was living there. He would sit there and talk for hours about building pontiacs out of original pontiac parts. No need for new speed parts if you know what you are doing.....unfortunatly I don't.
Try this book if you have'nt read it is well worth the cost. PONTIAC racer's & high performance handbook by pete McCarthy is available through classic industries.
Joe, that was one of the first books (actually a big thick magazine version) I bought for the bird. I need to look back into it again as you pointed out you do every once in a while. Too much info to retain on the brain; you have to look through it again once or twice a year.
I'll start again tonight.
Merv, its always been readily available on Ebay. Let me know what your birthday is and I might send you a suprise my friend.
But don't tell me your birthdays next week.
