Anyone running a Demon carb? (...or Holley) I am having trouble with the throttle linkage. 1) The stock throttle mounting bracket is at least an inch or more to the right of the carb linkage. (Anyone know of an adapter for this?)
2) It appears that the throttle cable doesn't have enough motion(back/forth) to fully operate the carb. It looks like I need another inch or so.(no jokes, please)
Any input would be appreciated.

Bronze Bird you can run the stock bracket. You'll have to redrill a hole for the throttle cable on the Demon Accelerator arm. As far as full throttle you will have to bend the foot feed at the cross arm so it doesn't bottom out on your floor. PM me with any questions. Only took me a few years to figure this one out. Thank you Bill!!! I thought I'd have to drill aonther hole forward on the carb as you mentioned. Bill, any possibility of photos?
You da man!
Jim, I have that adapter. It actually puts my stock bracket closer to the carb(forward). Thats the opposite of what I think I need to do. Curiously enough, that Edelbrock piece does not work well with the '68 bracket. If anyone decides to mount an E'brock carb and intake on their engine, please contact me. I can show you how to use your stock throttle bracket without the modification E'brock advises.

To get it to be tight like mine you would have to get the second gen cable and bracket. There are many brackets out there with tons of adjustment but they all work with the newer style 'square mount' cable. That bracket adaptor on mine is for the exact application I used it for, 2nd gen. I bought it from Summit. The only difference would be the cable on your car. And you would need the second gen bracket or aftermarket bracket. See how it moves the stock bracket back and inch? What is really going to be your 'sticking point' is that 1st gen cable.
you could also install an aftermarket throttle cable for about 50 bucks. They are pretty sweet. Then you wouldn't have to bend or do any drilling. I installed one because the original throttle cable was back ordered at classic industries.
