Some people have the pontiac triangle on the nose of their 67 bumper and some don't. Is it a sticker or a part of the metal on the bumer? I just bought a vintage Car & Driver mag with the 67 bird featured and it had the triangle on the bumper and I like it! Any info would be appreciated! Thanks.

There catalogs are nice with alot of pictures but you can usually save some money buying from AMES PERF.

As far as I know all Firebirds have the Pontiac Arrowhead on the frt. bumper.

Only 400 cars have the arrow on the bumper. There are two holes in a 400 bumper that the emblem fastens to. You can drill the holes in a regular bumper and mount the emblem.

I know my bumper may very well have been replaced before I got the car in 1975, but my car was a '350' car and it has the arrowhead in the bumper. Just to throw that out there.

and since nobody answered the question re what its made out of , no its not metal, its a rubbery thingy...

personally I like the cleaner look of the no arrowhead, so I left it off the front bumper as I "cloned" mine to a 400 (WAS a 350)

I'm with you Bjorn, I like the clean look too, especially if it's not an original 400, which mine is far from it.

I think that the tri-power cars had the bumper emblem too. Gotta tell this story one more time; Back in 1986 I bought a 69 350 car. Cloned it all out to a 400. Changed the hood, added every detail to make it a 400 car. Finally, it was all done in '88. I decided to get the PHS paperwork just for grins. The PHS build sheet said it was originally a 400 car! Goes to show that these cars go through a lot of 'changes' over the years. Some owners are very ambitious and can do just about anything to their car and sometimes the changes can be many.
