Weatherstrips to go on this week yaaay

Just to be anal about it, how do the trunk weatherstrips go? Coz the guys installing say that they go on the body of the car. Yet a friend of mine says that for his 65 mustang vert they did it that way and it turned out wrong, that the weatherstrips were actually supposed to be under the trunk lid. (of course pontiacs are gonna be different but i just want to make sure, i dont want to end up with ruined weatherstrips like he did)

So where does it go?

my 69 coupe has it mounted on the body,thats the only place i seen them mounted.

On the body and the meet point is in the center at the bottom by the latch. Get the better quality product of the two offered also.
