Help with info please. I went to a local car show and was told Rally I was the correct wheel for a 67 Firebird not Rally II. Is this correct and what is the basic difference. I have a 67 convertible with four piston front disc brakes. The car is not original but and it already has Rally II wheels with chrome PMD red letters on black background with the center caps. I won't change them but I was just curious. Thanks, Jeff

i believe for the most part they where rally II, or you got steel with hubcaps, which there where 5 or 6 flavors. the rally I is something you more traditionally see on chebbys rally II rally I

In 1967 Rally-I-wheels have been the correct option for Firebirds and GTOs, although at the end of the year the Rally-II-wheels were available, too. These got widespread in and after 1968 so the other way round - using Rally-I-wheels on a 68 Bird as I currently do (because I like them more than the Rally-II-wheels) - would be incorrect. (Rally-I-wheels, not really correct because the center caps should be painted black in the recessed areas - and even more incorrect because of being installed on my 68 car) (typical Rally-IIs for a 68 Bird, here still without the trim rings and the small center caps. They are still in my garage, waiting for getting installed...)

OK lets get this correct...In 1967 the rally I wheels were available on all 67 Firebirds BUT only with the disc brake option....The rally II's were avail all of 67 and all of 68 and they had trim rings and ceter caps as well and the 67+68 birds got black centers with black lug nuts.

Personally I wish the Rally I had been available for the 68. Of all the options regarding wheels I think they are by far the nicest looking! Very sharp!
