i would say for sure you should have the short one.
when i went to NAPA they listed both for a '68 bird, and did not say why. they had both in stock, and there is a big difference.
perhaps the tall one is actually for the st300? i said specifically th400, but maybe their book knows no better.
how tall is your current mount?
