Tom, beeps are one of two things...memory not correctly seated, or video card not correctly seated.
You were handling the memory...that would be my candidate. Take a good flashlight and remove the memory and look at the sockets for bent pins. If you see any...you can get a new motherboard.
Not likely video, as I believe you have onboard video in that system.
