After talking with a few people it was suggested that I buy new aftermarket axles . With the bearings being pressed on and held by the collar it is difficult to determine whether there are grooves under the bearing, short of having someone remove the bearings. I do not intend to ask you to do that for me.
Looking at the number of views I have on this thread I am just happy to have so many fellow 'bird fanatics helping me out with information and offers. That means a lot to me.
Hopefully I will be able to order some axles soon, but they are currently on backorder. The ones I am looking at are from a company called Alloy USA out of Georgia. They have a 10 year warranty and are under $100 each on Summit's website.
