Paul , I do not know about the hood light ,but my 69 has the trunk light...the wire comes up out of the trunk attached to the drivers side trunk hinge...then goes under neath the metal to the hole on the drivers side of the latch, if you open the trunk and look at it, there`s a round hole ea side of the latch, theres another hole 'looking' towards the front just next to this thats where the trunk light socket is attached w one small screw....the light itself comes on as you open, its alwas 'hot' in other words , and I think its a "level switch" in there , that comes on when its tilted .....if you want a picture I do have one w trunk open where you see the wires, but not really showing the socket...but I can take one if you want...
