Pete, my 69 wire is black or maybe brown (cant remember , but it comes out from drivers side wheel well w the other wires, then goes up on drivers side trunk hinge goes under the sheet metal to the hole just to the left of (as youre looking at it)the latch on the trunk lid... I dont think it would be anywhere near the fuel filler area....I have one pic of the rear of trunk lid , kinda shows the wire a little, but no pic of the light itself , but certainly can take one....(this is trunk light only, my engine was painted bright yellow , I think that was in lieu of the underhood light...LOL)
