in most US states you can register with YOM plates, = plates for Year Of Manufacture.....they dont have to be yours, since they are obviously expired. You can buy them on EBay ,antique stores etc., then you get them approved by DMV.

I have 69`s on my 69 bird, 71 s on my 71 Triumph , had 57s on my 57 Studebaker (since sold)
