I have bought cars off EBay without any issues including my current Firebird. Make sure you ask very pointed questions with regards to the condition of the car. For example mine needed to be rust free and I told the seller as such. Be prepared to walk away if he does not deliver what you ask. You can even tell him that before hand. It may cost you a trip and some negative feedback but it usually works out.
