Well paying 40K for a Firebird that isn't original is up to you, the owner will put a value on it, but you may not get it back if you decide to sell it, most car collectors look for originallity, not the options that I think the car should have so it's totally up to you what you want to spend and desire. We don't want to see you get stuck with a car you won't be happy with.
