She runs great with the carter thermoquod. It is the 9800S that even Jim Hand mentions in his book. It's the one thing that the p.o. Got right. Throttle response is instant and she chirps the tires instantly even with the stock 2.56 rear end. Most people call these thermo bogs and I found the same thing until I figured out the rear air door needed the spring tightened up ,,,,,lots. It bogs because it goes lean for a second when you stomp it. Tighten the air door spring (on the secondaries) and it slows that big rush of air, doesn't go lean, but now launches great. The 9800S is a 800 Cfm carb and the 455 loves it.
I have never had a quadra jet on this car, but have had a few in the past. They work very well too when adjusted/tuned properly.
