There's a National Event in Norwalk this weekend. There are several Pontiacs on the entry list. I see at least 4 in Stock. They are Randi Lyn Shipp, Julie Biermann, Michael Brand, and Billy Foder.
I am not familiar with this last name. The car is listed as a '72 Firebird, with a 455. But it is entered in A/S. That might be a misprint. Don't think any Pontiac combo's today run A/S. And I don't know of anybody running a 4-speed 455 '72 Bird in NHRA Stock Elim. Just found this, from last year. The car was listed in E/SA. That sounds more like it.
In SS, Bill Rink is entered, with his little '74 GTO. There is also a SS/AM class '00 Grand Am listed as having a Pontiac 439 engine. The driver is Jim Clark. I am not familiar with the car or driver. So, is it Pontiac powered or not ? Don't know why they list the 4th gen Bird engines as Pontiac. Anyhow, if anyone has more info on this car, please post.
There are also 2 Super Gas Pontiac powered cars listed. One is listed as a '33 Ford, with a 468 Pontiac engine. The driver is Tim Gillespie. The other is a '68 Bird, with a 461 Pontiac engine. Doug Croft is the driver.
