I wouldn't even cut any excess off the kickpanel area and would just tuck it under the kickpanel(i don't remember there being that much to remove anyway) Nash is correct though,if you cut to much your carpet is done.Same goes for the shifter area,careful to not be over zealous on the snip-snip as it will show along the side of your console.Goodluck with it.
