Hi I've been toying with the idea of somehow boring/stroking/etc my pontiac 350 out to a 455. I don't know, however, how one might go about getting an additional 105 cubic inches out of my 350... if anyone could help me out on the parts needed to do so (and/or machine work) then that would be awesome. Also, if anyone knows where i might be able to find quality short block components for the 455 build that would be gratly appreciated as well. Thanks.

Brad, your best bet is to start with a bare 455 block and go from there. I'm in the process of building one now. If you can find a complete 455 short block, better yet. The crank is different for a 455. There are always a few on ebay.

You'll never be able to bore a 350 block out big enough to handle a 455 piston. You can do all the crank work, but you'll end up with a long-stroke 350. (402 CID with a stock-stroke 455 crank ground down to 3" mains.) Might make an awesome tow-vehicle engine, though!

I pulled my original 350 HO motor because I did not want to blow it up racing, I also wanted a little more power. I went with a 400 block and did the Eagle stroker crank. Between the added stroke and punching the block out .030 I have around 460ci. My engine builder actually recommended the 400 with the stroker compared to the 455 because of the smaller journals so I could get away with reving higher.
I only have two trips to the track with it and still have a lot of fine tuning with it, but my best run two weeks ago was 12.39 @ 108mph.

I agree woth 69 350 H.O. Especially if you have the original 350 H.O. motor. Set it up for storage, poull it and store it away for safe keeping!

Then get a 400, 421, 428 or 455 and build it the way you want it! (Ask Quenton on some good combinations for that).

You can build the motor, and still drive the car right up until you swap in that bad boy!
