How do the console seat belt clips attach on a '67 (screw only, screw & clip, screw & nut, ???)?

Also, does anyone have a template showing where the holes go?

Thanks

John

Wasn't that a Camaro only feature? Or is it a Deluxe Interior feature?

I have never been able to find evidence of these clips on my pretty original June built '67.

It's a deluxe seat belt feature that I believe was introduced mid year.

I'm tired of my belts falling down between the seats.

There are many past threads on this issue. If I say they were never a 67 bird option, 8Point will come to my house and kick my butt. Some say they were an option, some say they were a dealer install. I put mine on with screws at a location where the belts can reach when adjusted for me. The place where they are found "originally" is pretty far forward so I think you have to run the belt out to reach.

Yes, I'm experiencing major deja vu, especially seeing your pic for the 10th time. What I can't find is a template someone posted quite a while back. I thought I saved it, but if I did it's long gone.

John, Bob is right . The best way is to get your belt adjusted for your size and put the clip where the belt extends to .
The original location is way to far forward to be practical. You have to adjust it each time you get in or out
And like Bob S if you get thicker in the future it wont matter!!!!

You guys are right. I went out to the garage this morning with my template and saw that the clip is set for someone with very short legs and a large stomach. If I install them, I'll move them back at least two inches.

So how do they attach? Is there a nut on the back?

On Camaros, the clips were added to all consoles mid-year. I'd be surprised if it was different on Firebirds. smile

I'm sure the Firebirds were first and the Camaro guys were once again trying to catch up - JK.

Maybe this could be a new topic in the research section?

John, I just used sheet metal screws. You need to drill a pilot hole for the screw and a larger hole for that little tab to go into.

Bob, so the screws thread right into the plastic? I thought there would be a nut on the back?

I guess you could use a nut. I just screwed into the plastic and the clips are on there securly. If you're being a stickler for originality, someone with original clips will have to chime in on how they mount.
