So, does this mean we're going to get a tornado in CA?? (That actually happened once, just a mile away from home, it was small, but was strong enough to tear up a few roofs.
Not to snark or anything, but 5.1?- around here that's not a quake, that's a "reminder"!
I remember one obout 10 yrs ago here on the wet coast....I was sitting on a rolling office chair at my 'puter...and all of a sudden the desk and keyboard left my fingers and rolled 2 feet away..then returned...(the chair rolled with the quake) hair on my neck rose..looked at wifey and asked her if she was playing a trick onme ...but she was 10 feet away..
Next day I had crackes on lots of moldings and they had a big fissure down by the border crossing, about 5 minutes away...

One of these days we'll get the big one...
If that is the one I'm thinking of it was centered near Kalamath Falls Oregon. I too felt it, I was laying on the floor watching TV and it rolled right under me, kinda felt like body surfing. It wasn't violent just weird.
Reports it was felt here. I was sound asleep so I can't say. Twenty some years ago we had a magnitude 3+ in NE Ohio. I was driving a 22' box truck up to Akron and felt the truck sway. I didn't think much of it until I saw the news.
