Here is what I know:
The only part # we have is 9786819, power steering ,no ac ,2 groove. That info came from the firebird site, we are not sure it is correct. We have bee using the pulley measurement of the pulley sitting on a flat surface to the top surface to the top flange where the fan attaches should be2 7/16 high . this is based on pulley #9796060xf which means the pulley has to move out5/16 by shortening the height of the pulley cone.
Thanks again to anyone who can help on this.
Bob

Sorry David. Was interrupted by "Irene". Back on line. I need to check again with my restorer this week to confirm the part number. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you all for your help. Ended up needing entire pulley set.
Finally sorted.
Final parts order going in Tuesday - after almost a year finally in the homestretch....just in time for winter....

I just became a member this week. I have 1968, 1969, 1972 and 1975 Pontiac Illustration and Parts Catalogs so let's see if I can help. According to the 68 and 69 books, a 9786819 is a 2 groove 8" O.D. pulley used on 1968 V8s with power steering and without AC. If your car has AC, the pulley number should be 9788886 which has a 5 11/16" outer diameter.
Hope that helps! RJ
