Then I checked on ebay motors in the next few days and I go ahead and bidded on it 7 times. The bidder had been outbid me again so, I outbidded him/her then I went outside and yard worked then went inside and checked this Auction again to see if I won it or not... I can't believe it, I've been won it went for $3,000.99!!!
My Father and I've been contacted with this seller on ebay emails, sending forward emailed him and he called the seller often but things went fine. My Father contact with me and he said this seller can wait till 1 week later, this Saturday at 7:00am my Father, me, his 2nd wife and her youngest son (my step baby brother) will driving down to Hearne, TX with his 1 ton 4 doors pick up truck with long flat bed trailer then I'll be finish to paid off the car and pick up her on the trailer then driving down to my new home under the Car Port (it fits 2 cars).

I reviewed your data plate manually. There is good news and not so good news.
1) Your car is indeed an original 400 Sport model. The "3JF" means you have 2 separate options in Group 3, "J" which we are not sure what it means and "F" which was the 400 model.
2) The not so good news (depending on your desires) is that your car left the factory with a TH 400 transmission under it and only 2 pedals on the floor. Someplace in its life it got converted to a stick car. I only saw the one RH factory traction bar under the car in the photos - if the left side one is missing and there is no Riv Nut on the rear frame rail and reinforcement plate on that side under the rear seat, that would pretty much confirm that.

Actually I was doing a search a week or two ago and the tag analyzer was still on an old yahoo search. I'm curious about paint K-1. anybody know without looking it up?
Nevermind, Tourq Blue w/ivory vinal top. But what is the Z after the 260(parchment) trim code? Is that the folddown rear? BTW. I don't think the analyzer works but the code info is there if you scroll down.

Thanks for good information.... I checked the Body Tag, it said:
It has "J" code stands for "Custom Option" and of course you're right "F" code stands for "400 Option (Firebird).
And I don't see the 4th Group on that Tag, no need this codes from the factory?

BTW, I'm not worry about it's missing 400 eng. & th400 trans. I'm realy cares the 400 car with very good solid body, I can finding another one '67 400 eng. with th400 trans. into her will be near or it's matching #'s.

I found out the body paint code earlier, it has Gulf Turquoise "K"-1 under primered, had Vinyl Top "-1" - Ivory
The code "L" is for the rear fold back seat, code "W" - Soft-ray Tinted Glass (Windshield Only).
Quote:

I think "260(parchment) trim code" is correct, that means deluxe white Int. with black trims on the metal panels, I'll reading the rest on scroll down that page. Thanks,
Pat

Thanks for kind word, yeah that looks like a ton of work but I can fixing her up pretty simple job. I'm the Auto Body man for 28 years, I had over 26 classic muscle and other cars, 2 small sized Chevy L.U.V and 1 '84 1/2 ton p/u Trucks... I'll be retired when I'm finish to restore my 2nd '67 one. My mother bought a factory black 2004 Saturn VUE 4 drs with 2.2L and 5 spd manual trans. with gray Int., has black top dashboard and arm rests. She still looks new and smells like new! That's great for used for transportation while I'm to finding parts and auto supplies - spray can primers, rust remover, cleaner, WD-40, Stainless Steel (rust proof) bolts, nuts, washers, screws, etc.) and Swap Meets for my '67 Bird.
BTW, thanks for sending PMs me. Will keep in contact with you when I get my baby to my new home by this Weekend and will finding out what parts we need. :-)

Not a heck of a lot of info there anyway. All '67's were built Norwood, you know you have a '67 coupe and it came with a V8 engine.

I knew it was only 1 plant that year, but I guess our FGF VIN page for '67's needs more "fixing" than I thought.

Thanks for help. I removed Int., carpets, oil pad covers, factory sealers and I noticed she has a factory 4 spd manual square hole with factory stamped plates on the top and under, I'm so confusing which is one mine had the factory th400 auto. in the group 2 - "Z" OR "B" 3-spd Manual Transmission Floor Shift. There's no code "B"... The whole body shell has never been cutted off or welded around to modified it.. it's all original body panels, included floor panels.
Body tag with red marked "Z" in the group 2:
721 04C ST 67-22637 LOR22636 BODY TR 260-Z K-1 PAINT WL 2ZGS 3JF 5Y
Is that from the factory error or previous owner did swapped the body tags?? Just curious.

but you are getting into an expensive hobby here (car restorations) but are balking at getting all the correct factory literature????
Especially in this case where the missing body tag may be a sign of a bit of fraud going on.

What's "balking" stands for? I can't read 2nd English...
I've been in contacted with Bjorn all about this and he said he dunno......
Last night I've been online and looked for questions and answers in 5 hours till 4:00 A.M about that 2 different trannys. It's very imposible to tell in which is one is original factory to my car, I've been very frustrating all night.... I found 2 sites with square hole parts, they said it's for manual tranny only and one said it's for th400. Also, I found repro square boot for '67 in different parts site, it said that's for th400 but I doubt it. We'll see what's going on........
I remember I had 1st '67 326 H.O with factory 4 spd manual tranny that has the same factory as my 2nd '67 one.
I'll post sites and pics here to see what's the difference soon....

You are most likely going to be spending thousands of dollars on your restoration over the few years and yet you are saying that you cannot afford the $50 or so for your PHS documents?
This is probably one of the best $50 purchases you will make for your car. They will tell you everything and stop all of your attempts to "figure out" what's original and what has been messed with by previous owners.
For example, my car came with several aftermarket add-ons that I now know for sure where not original such as underdash gauges, a transmission cooler, aftermarket carb and air cleaner.

Thanks for LMK, sorry all about this again.... knows my car needs a lot of working to do and I don't cares it's expensive repairs because of '67 Firebird is very difficult to finding for 23 years with lowered price and local in TX area...... Finally, I won her on that Auction this month. I'm 45 yrs old Deaf Auto Bodyman experience for 28 years... I can fixing her up excellent job, I have a good patience with her and I believe she will be done around 5 years. I sold my very rare expensive Collectibles to the buyers from other site, I have pretty enough money to taking care of her... BTW, I have copied pages of PHS Documents that from the seller on 2/2/13, he gave it to me. I read it showed "th400" and "3 spd manual" with black circles marked on the both of pages that's very confusing me. I'll take new pics of them and will be uploading into my photobucket.com then will post or reply here - (in case when my edit post is expires in 5 hours later) soon. Hope that'll helps ya to know all about this than me, thanks for trying to helping me out.....

Dark Blue Int., 326 2bbl, 4spd, 2 traction bars, 1 of 6,078 built in '67. I'm the current owner of '67 Firebird 400 coupe with original code F-400 Option, 1 of 22,636 built in '67 with rare T400. My brother & I picked her up and brought her to my new home. It's original eng. & trans. are long gone. Has factory K-Gulf Turquoise under primer, had Ivory vinyl top. Has factory RH traction bar w/ 3.08 gear, J-custom option with original Deluxe Parchment Int., has rare fold down rear seat. I'll look for a good running '67 400/400 when it's done. By the way, where are you getting the "1 of 650 built" from?
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
" I have the Pontiac historical services report that document this car as 1 of only 9858 built but the special order TH400 make it 1 of 650 & the options and color combination put it in the low hundreds.".
I dunno if it's true, we'll finding out. Thanks for asked.
