Looking for a few things here.
First, thanks in advance for your help.
I have been bopping around this site for years but I am finally in a solid place to do some solid looking.
A driver condition bird that is safe enough for my family and I to go to cruise nights and get ice cream is best for my situation.
4-speed is a must, vert is great, love the 400 look but IDC about an actual 400 nor much about originality, matching numbers etc.
I will have help mechanic-wise when I need it but one guy is always very busy and the other is an hour away.
So long term I am good but short term...
Does anyone know of a Bird-guy who is in the WNY area that is willing to help me inspect any potential car?
The listing below intrigues me, I went to look at it but would never pony up without some level of expert inspection.
What do you think of this listing?
I know that there is not a lot to go on.
I decoded the vin and some of the body tag info.
This car looks to have been a verdero green, parchment buckets and white vert top.
It looks to have been v8 but cannot tell if it was originally a 326 or a 400.

Front bumper doesn't have the Pontiac arrow nor are the filler panels there which suggests to me that it either wasn't an original 400 car or was in an accident with front end damage.

You are lucky it's a '67. For the 1967 model year ONLY, the 400 Sport option for the Firebird is identified directly on the body tag. If you could upload a photo of the body tag - we can determine if it's a real 400 in an instant.

NOT a factory 400 Sport. It does not have the correct code in the 3rd Group (no codes there at all) and the code "2W" signifies a 2-speed "Super Turbine" 300 transmission. The factory 400's only came with the 3-speed TH 400 tranny.
Also, that Firebird was originally Verdoro Green.
The VIN is actually riveted to the drivers door jam.

habe you located your bird if not I would ask that you look at the 67 I posted for a customer I have pics of the body resto from start to finish beautiful rust free body only needs interior and drive train dress up unfortunately it's an automatic bit transferring to 4 speed is possible at this stage of resto
