No I haven't seen the PHS documentation or verified the engine code. I was just trying to get an idea of what the car would be worth if what the ad says is legitimate.
In '68 there was the 400, 400HO, 400 RA1, and 400RA2 engines but not a 400HO RA. That's why I would want to see the PHS and engine code to see what it is.

With all the incorrect parts on that car, I would question if it is even a real 400 model.

Apc, you’ll find a lot of people don’t know what they are talking about when it comes to these cars. For instance a lot of people will tell you that it’s a ram aim car just because it has hood scoops. I suppose they will do it to up sell the car but valuation is directly related to the car’s pedigree, so to speak. Apparently the seller doesn’t know if he is trying to sell an Apple or an orange. Buyer beware.

Well worded!

My question was how much would the car be worth if it checked out not how to verify its authenticity but thanks for your "help".
So, a Warren County boy? There will be enough locals in the Cinncinati area who can help with identification as well as an opinion on value by looking at the vehicle in person. At this board, given the ad has identified it as something that was never produced at a GM factory, we cannot do so. Heck, is Paul Freese still in business in Batesville? He's more of a GTO guy, but he'll have an opinion.

Here are correct engine codes for 1968 Firebird with 400 engine:
WZ- 400 MT YT- 400AT WQ- 400HO MT YW- 400HO AT WI- RA I MT (D port head) XN- RA i AT (D port head) WU- RA II MT (Round port head) XT- RA II AT (Round port head)
Engine codes are stamped on passenger side of block around timing cover. Block casting # is on back side of block passenger side along transmission, hope this helps.
It could have been modified and enhanced to the point where it does indeed qualify as a RAM-AIR, but certainly not an original build from the factory. Go check it out!
