Sorry to hear it. If it makes you feel any better, I had a drill with a wire wheel get loose from me last summer while I was stripping the underside of the car. I had it locked on and it ran up under my shorts while running.

I can, Squished the first two finger tips of my left hand in a wood splitter. Doctor had to snip off the tip of the first finger. (just used a pair of diaginal pliers)Have no finger nail on that one, Other one healed up ok. OCH !!!!

Greg - I can tell you how many cups of blood the artery right under that tendon can spray before the ER doc sews it up, and how long before physical therapy has the reconnected tendon back to full motion...
Took the tip of my finger off with a jointer/planer a few years back, but that doesn't hurt as much as hitting one with a BFH. The throbbing will stop eventually and by this time next year you'll be back to hitting things with a hammer. Get well soon.
Lets see.... U-joints BFH, .. yeah.. I've been there.. took 6 months to heal and 3 stiches.. its a little flatter and I lost some feeling in it but it still works.. I can definitely sympothize
