1984 Ford Tempo. I'm embarrassed to even admit owning one. The driving school I was working for at the time (owner/instructor) insisted that everyone have the same vehicle. Pathetic (almost dangerous) handling, no power (0-60 in 22 seconds - slower than my non-turbo diesel Benz by 3 seconds!), mediocre fuel economy, lousy seats, ignition module failed before I even got home from the dealership, upper strut bushings popping, exhaust system recall, needle valve in the carb stuck, front end structure was so weak that the "subframe" would flex and allow the tire to tuck under during cornering - the list is long.
This is the car that Jackie Stewart refused to drive on dry pavement for the commercials. I spit on all Tempos.
My '88 Legend with the 5-speed was one of the nicest sounding cars to run through the gears that I've owned. 0-60 in 8.4 seconds and 30 mpg from 2.7 liters. Everything the Tempo wasn't.
