Generally speaking, the "rule of thmb" of 10 lbs. per 1,000 RPM is okay, but not "in stone". Many small block run only 45-50 lbs., but rev well beyond 7,000.
At a "hot idle, in gear", one should have at least 20 lbs. It should "jump" to 60 lbs., before it reaches 2,000.
