I work for the State of Florida, we have always said that you will never get rich by working for the state, but at least we'll have some security!? Now that is in limbo. We are looking at two week layoff, cut in pay by 6.6% among other terminating people on O.P.S. and folks on "the drop program" (people who have retired and still choose to work for up to five years on a deffered comp program.) I can only sympathize with you I have been laid off at the textile mill to never return, that is when I got a job with the state, been there now for 10 years (3 yrs O.P.S.)
