More important then the paycheck (although quite important) or the status or whatever, is whether or not you like your job. Since you spend a substancial part of your life at the job, enjoying it is essential, not only to keep a good feeling, but also to keep a good health and a good life...
It is a tough decision though; is it the job itself you dislike, or the circimstances in which you are doing it. I understand it is the latter. i agree you should confront your superiors with the flaws in the way the company is run. Sometimes this will get you ahead, in a place where you can change things. Whether or not you would like that (the danger exists you might change the field for an office if you do) is up to you. If you friend owns a company which provides a better environment for the same job, go for it.
