Chemistry; When you combine chemical elements and you get a reaction you have a catalyst in the mix. To determine the catalyst; You examine what is left 'unchanged' after the reaction and it is the catalyst. If you were to remove a chemical from the mix and the reaction stops, it doesn't mean the chemical you removed is the catalyst.
