Jim, Would you sit , with your children and listen to hate garbage like "No, no, no, not God Bless America, God D*** America" and not walk out and never come back? We left our church, coincidently the same national denomination as Obama's, as we noticed the services bringing in more and more leftist views. Certainly it was subtle and not the hatred of Obama's church. Obama didn't leave because he was going there for political reasons. That mega-church provided a base for his Illinois political career. I could talk about his pre-Trinity Church religion but I won't here.
Obama didn't have a casual passing relationship with political fringe activist people. He sought them out and cultivated the relationships. Even in college, from his own book, Dreams of my Fathers": "To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."
