Although I believe McCain was foolish to acknowledge Hagee's support, it is Hagee, not McCain, who made that statement. Just as Falwell made the preceding statement. And McCain is not a member of Hagee's congregation. There is a big difference.
Exactly. There is a significant difference between people who support a candidate and people who the candidate chose as mentors and close advisors. I usually avoid the casual "supporters' references because the candidate is not necessarily endorsing them. However, Obama would not look very good there as I think about several world dictators, many Hollywood kooks, Communist Party of Illinois, George Soros, Louis Farrakhan, Jane Fonda, Hamas, Jesse Jackson, Bill Maher, Michael Moore, New Black Panther Party, Al Sharpton, Socialist Party USA, and a variety of criminals.
